What is a Web Log or blog?

"Blogs are personal Web sites where you can post things, including photos, stories and links to other cool stuff online. They resemble a journal, with information arranged chronologically based on when you post it. The simple form is a major virtue - you don't have to think too hard about how to organize your blog." - The Wall Street Journal

"A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world.

Your blog is whatever you want it to be. There are millions of them, in all shapes and sizes, and there are no real rules." - Blogger.com

The PGI website is open to reasonably argued rebuttals or amendments, in response to published blogs. It is up to each message-sender whether he or she wants to include an e-mail address. We will only publish those responses for which we've been given permission to show the name and city of the writer.

Opinions expressed by blogs and/or their responses reflect the opinion of the writer and may or may not reflect the views of the Institute. Signed blogs, but not their responses, may be used as Op-Ed columns so long as the source URL and name of the author are included.

Email responses to feedback@publicgov.org. Please indicate the blog to which you are responding.
